Say What Now of the Day: Not even a week since suspect James Holmes shot up a Colorado movie theater – killing 12 — and asshat comedian Dane Cook treats his audience at the Laugh Factory to the following:

So I heard that the guy came into the theater about 25 minutes into the movie. And I don’t know if you’ve seen the movie, but the movie is pretty much a piece of crap. Yea, spoiler alert.

I know that if none of that would have happened, pretty sure that somebody in that theater, about 25 minutes in, realizing it was a piece of crap, was probably like ‘ugh f**king shoot me.’

Too soon, bro. TOO SOON.

this is a gray area for me. i’ve seen comics who write about tragedies (personal or in society) in order to get through it. im not saying this was dane’s way of grieving, but that is his job, in some respects: to make light of a negative or dark or overlooked situation. I know its a really sad thing that happened in colorado, but if dane’s anything like me, he’s probably been thinking a lot about it. idk, i guess im just saying it’s just a joke (a bad joke, but still a joke). ALSO can we not have someone tweet EVERYTHING that’s said at the laugh factory so the world can pick it apart? it’s getting annoying.
